Engg ya Doctor???????

Its been a week now that the 12th results have been out, and it got a lil depressing to read bout the suicides....the pressure is just too much. This is somethin i hate bout our education system....How do 15 year olds decide wat stream they want to pursue a career in???

2 years of junior college, fly away and then the biggest decision is thrust upon those small shoulder, which have already sagged carrying the weight of school bags..all these years!!!!!!

There is the biggest parental pressure, and the urge to continue with your friends, and to add to the confusion, absolutely no idea of what is going to be in store for you during the graduation days. How does one know, whether or not you are going to be able to cope up with it....???

Ok, supposing i do opt for some course, and then realise that i am not cut out for it, its not my cup of tea.....switching courses isn't easy either!!! And if you lose an academic year, you are generally looked down upon the society, and the feeling of having lost a year is even worse for the child going thro it......they are children, aren't they?? Confused children, the adolescence playing even worse games with the emotions..

I think the pressure should be loosened....a lil.....awareness should be increased about other fields of studies, goin away from the "Norm" aka Engg/Doctor should be encouraged. Education counselling should be done in schools.

I think i have been lucky to get in a field that i always wanted to be in ( even though sometimes i think i shouldn't have got in this......but everyone has rough days!!)

Every child should be allowed to pursue anything that is of interest to him, coz that will ensure the maximum output from him, and he shall definitely prosper in it!
