Shapes & Life

When we look around us we come across the various shapes of the multiple numbers of things that we are surrounded by. The most basic of the shapes that will be taught to us in the geometry class would be – circle, triangle, square and so on.

What if we apply these shapes to the various relationships that we have? Can they be co-related? Circle would be the most satisfying of all the shapes. Because as most of the "Sms" quote, a circle knows no end, it has no corners.

Then we have the Triangle. It has been made famous in the relationship department by the "Love Triangle" that exists in most of the movies and soaps. But as art imitates life and vice-versa, it is a very common occurrence in real life too. An equilateral triangle can never exist as far as life and relations are concerned. It could always be a scalene triangle – has to be, can't see anything otherwise, even an Isosceles triangle is difficult to fathom when humans and their complexities are concerned.

Square is difficult too. I find it impossible to believe that an individual can feel the same amount of love/respect/care for 2 or 3 different individuals at a given point of time. Any perfect shape will not exist in life. A quadrangle with all sides measuring different lengths is something which can occur in life. The equation which we have will differ for any individual that we meet, just as the individuals are different so are our wavelengths with them.

All these shapes when broken will give rise to another shape but perfect in nature and can exist on their own, a circle – semicircle, a square – rectangle etc. But a heart, which is the most favorite shape when used to associate with relations, is not a perfectly symmetrical shape. When broken it doesn't give rise to another perfect shape either. Why is it used to describe the most happiest of all relationships? Maybe because we don't like to see it broken. It looks good just the way it is and is a dream for all to achieve.

So for now we can all happily exist in a circle, a circle of trust, a bond of lasting. But is it right to draw a relation between such things and unnecessarily complicate things? Isnt life already very complicated to get oneself thinking on such lines? Do I have too much idle time to come up with such things? I think YES!
